The international cultural centre ufaFabrik in Berlin's Tempelhof district supports young artists, bringing international and local art and culture together. The extensive site of the former UFA film copying works has been a dynamic place for creative participation in art and culture for all generations since 1979.
The performance programme of the ufaFabrik includes theatre, music, cabaret, music hall, dance, world music, children's circus, themed festivals and co-productions with other European partners. Seminars and conferences about artistic, social and sustainability issues complete the programme. The ufaFabrik has three venues with 80, 160 and 260 seats respectively as well as a covered summer outdoor stage with 500 seats.
The cultural centre supports emerging talent and international artists and ensembles with its artists' in residence programme. This programme supports the development of young people's creativity in collaboration with partners from Berlin and abroad through the projects netdays Berlin and Fit for Life.
On the 18,566m² area of the ufaFabrik there is also a children's zoo, playground, organic food shop, organic bakers and confectioners, a guest house, the Café Olé and a children's circus school. The many green roofs and solar panels on the site as well as the abundant, verdant open spaces make the ufaFabrik a 'green oasis' in the metropolitan jungle of Berlin.
