Theater Jaro
Theater JARO is a Berlin-based children's and family theater that weaves drama, puppetry and music into a multifaceted artistic interplay. The program is aimed at people from 2 - 12 years and their adult companions. The theatre performes on weekends for families and during the week for kindergartens and school classes.
The program includes a broad repertoire of 17 plays written by Katja Behounek and Martin Pölzer, the long-time team of directors and authors. The plays thematically address the realities of children's lives and negotiate them across generations. Many of the lively stories can also be listened to as a CD radio play, picture book or via video link at home or in the Kita.
Theater JARO was founded in 1991 and performed for 18 years at Theater & Restaurant Charlottchen. It then toured the districts of Berlin for two years. Since 2011 the theater plays and produces permanently in Friedenau.
