Schlossplatztheater
Located between the town hall and the Schlossplatz Köpenick, the Schlossplatz Theatre started its performance in August 1995 on the first floor of a town house of the late 19th century. The small hall for up to 70 spectators was previously home to the cinema in Köpenick and the Schloß-Theater cinema stage. The current programme includes productions for children, young people and adults. With great artistic consistency their own ideas are realized here. Music theatre productions have developed into an artistic focus. They question classical opera material about its relevance to the present, in order to be able to tell it in a new way. The classical arias, duets and trios always fit easily and naturally into the new interpretations. Since 2009, contemporary operas have also been commissioned. Guest performances, concerts and co-productions with other theatre groups complete the programme. The programme also includes the "Young Schlossplatz Theatre", with theatre-pedagogical projects with children and young people, as well as cooperation within the framework of Tusch - Theatre and School, Tuki - Theatre and Kita and cultural education.
