Globe Berlin
The Globe Berlin will be the new venue for acting, word art and world music. Provided that the necessary permits are obtained, the wooden theatre building on Sömmeringstraße, which comes from Schwäbisch Hall, can be erected and used. The building is 14 metres high, measures 26 metres in diameter and has room for around 600 visitors. Besides the reconstruction of the wooden construction, a re-sealable roof and an adjacent functional building are planned. The circular building is modelled on Shakespeare's legendary open-air arena, in which a cross-section of London's population gathered more than 400 years ago to experience encounters, education and entertainment in a connecting place. Globe Berlin has its own ensemble and stands for spectacular, sensual theatre close to the audience: for people of all ages, from different cultural backgrounds and close to the themes that move everyone. The round theatre building is already disassembled and stored on site. Until the construction begins, a circular catwalk stage made of wooden components of the future Globe Berlin will serve as a corona between it and the open-air stage. The audience sits in the middle of the stage, on 100 chairs at a distance. All around the stage the action is raging, the trees are rustling, the birds are chirping and the evening sky plays an important supporting role.
