A new cultural space, Blackmore's - Berlins Musikzimmer (Berlin's Music Room), has found a home in a former bank in the Wilmersdorf district of Berlin. Where once money was counted and hard numbers ruled, the fine arts have moved in. Since 2014, the charming 200 seats salon has hosted classical music, jazz and soul as well as readings and exhibitions.
Blackmore's is multi-faceted: an intimate chamber music hall and gallery but above all a meeting place for artists and audiences that honours the tradition of the Berlin salon. The affiliated café offers drinks and small culinary delicacies before and after concerts.
Blackmore's is also a place where up and coming, emergent young musicians try out new forms, be they spoken word concerts, concerts with readings or Sunday brunch concerts. Masterclasses are also held here where young musicians meet prominent soloists and work on their artistic development.
