Berliner KinderTheater
The lively productions of the Berliner Kindertheater (Children's Theatre Berlin) have delighted children between 4 and 10 years old and their families for nearly thirty years. It may be because the wagging finger of seriousness is banished to be back of the props cupboard and the doors are flung open for fun and lively comedic theatre play with a variety of angels and villains.
The repertoire consists of the classic stuff of children's literature like "Pippi Longstocking", "Pettson and Findus" and "Vicky the Viking", all dealing with the large and small problems of its young public.
The Berliner Kindertheater's professional cast of actors plays on two stages: in the summer on the 500-seat open air theatre in the Zitadelle in Spandau or in winter in the Fontane-Haus in Berlin's Reinickendorf district with its 400 seats. Alongside performances the Berliner Kindertheater develops and organises theatre workshops for children as well as engaging in social projects.
