The aim of the Berliner Spielplan Audiodeskription project is to turn a stage performance into a real theatre experience for blind and visually impaired people. Together with five Berlin venues, sixteen productions with over 40 performances will be commented live for blind and visually impaired viewers* until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Permanent partner theatres of the pilot project are the Berliner Ensemble, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Friedrichstadt-Palast and the Theater an der Parkaue. Further stages are planned for individual performances.
With the Berlin Spielplan Audio Deskription it will be possible for the first time for blind and visually impaired people to participate on an equal level in the capital's stage culture across genres and to a notable extent. A special visitor service with haptic tours, dramaturgical conversations and dogsitting for guide dog owners accompany the individual performances.
You will find the next dates from October here, in our programme. Further information can be found on the pages of the stages.
