WOUND
WOUND
WOUND is a dance ritual aimed at grieving communities and collective mourning, on the path of healing and reconciliation; to reconcile with the past, recognise the present and build a future through human bonds.
I have a wound
A wound is what I have
Deep in the tissue of my cells
Deep down
Cutting a hole
Through layers of geological flesh
Scars
To Mother Earth
Not only the planet Earth, its soil and its nature bear the wounds of mass destruction over centuries of war and colonisation, but also our human soul. They become a wound of humanity, a genetic imprint across cultures and geographies. WOUND is a dance ritual aimed at grieving communities and collective mourning, on the path of healing and reconciliation; to reconcile with the past, recognise the present and build a future through human connection and bonding with nature, water and the human body/soil.
