„Teach me!“ – The Students of Nadia Boulanger
“Living in music is such a source of joy for me,” Nadia Boulanger confessed in retrospect, ”that I tried to share this joy in my teaching ...” And even if this joy was mostly associated with great rigor, she was also concerned with encouragement: “It needs a fixed language, and then in this language the freedom to be yourself ... Being yourself, that alone is something brilliant.” Of the many composers that Nadia Boulanger took under her wing over the course of her long life, six will be heard in this varied program - from the neoclassicism of Jean Françaix to the minimalism of Philipp Glass and the jazz great Quincy Jones with film music.
