As part of the maC theses
Where does the Global South begin?
What post-colonial cosmologies exist there that we know nothing about?
The Chilean choreographer Felipe Fizkal invites us into a space that creates a living landscape in exchange with the senses of its visitors. The rhythm of the cumbia, the sweat, and the calls of the farmers in the fields are echoes that evoke the Global South.
In this piece, the presence of the performers becomes a seismic event that leads to the rediscovery of contemporary ritual forms of expression and subcultural practices of the Global South.
The MA Choreography students develop their final projects during the last semester of their master’s program and present them to the public. The premiere is preceded by several months of research and rehearsals, during which they engage intensively with their individual questions and themes, refining their unique approach and artistic signature.
