Carolina Mendonça and her team explore how choreography and bodily practices can serve as a feminist form of self-defence.

A unique experience marked a turning point in the work of Carolina Mendonça: “Some years ago my body started to feel different. It felt like it was producing a kind of new fluid which was traveling through my veins. For lack of a better word, I started calling it rage. I didn’t know what to do with it.”

After “Zones of Resplendence” (2023), in which she imagined what a feminist army fighting against sexual oppression might look like, some questions were inevitable. Certain practices demanded more time. "Something is Approaching" will premiere in June 2025 in Brussels and has been developed in residencies in Arts Centre BUDA and PACT Zollverein.
