In 2020, the EU announced a ‘Green Deal’, promising unimaginable investment into decarbonising the world – the developed world, that is. In view of the looming general crisis, the global south is again threatened with the prospect of paying the price.
Urgently needed investment in decentralised energy, traffic and communication infrastructure that would enable technological advancement in regions of Africa, Asia and South America is in question. China remains the new saviour. The EU is busy putting its own house in order. Can that really be in everyone’s interest?
Solidarity with other regions, cultures and future generations is the central challenge of our times. But how will the struggle for (climate) justice in the world define our politics and our behaviour? And how do we work together to create the dynamics of change so urgently needed?
The panelists will be announced on short notice.
