In backwards, choreographer Kosmas Kosmopoulos and seven dancers examine the movement patterns of our society and ask questions such as: Is the destination really always ahead? Or is the future behind us? Do we get closer to our destination faster if we go backwards? Where do we arrive if we take one step forward and two steps back? With the new dance performance backwards, LUNA PARK focuses on social disorientation and reflects the social search movements on stage. The dance research is about the big picture: about right and wrong, important or not. backwards paints a picture of simultaneity and opposition and deals with the issue of holding on to a goal in the turmoil of everyday life in uncertain times without losing sight of it. Fast backwards or slow forwards? Pausing? Full braking?

Kosmas Kosmopoulos graduated from the first generation of P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels and, as the initiator and driving force behind the association Initiative LUNA PARK, has been realizing dance productions in Berlin for 20 years, which have also been shown internationally (including Sofia, Cairo and Basel). Over time, a symbiotic collaboration has developed between LUNA PARK and Gesundbrunnen Primary School in Berlin Wedding, which enables the mutual use of existing resources and enriches both sides: artists learn from pupils in daily contact - and vice versa. In the cooperation with the elementary school, LUNA PARK finds inspiration and exchange, as well as rehearsal rooms, infrastructure and, last but not least, an interested audience. The school benefits from the artistic and educational activities offered by the dancers as well as from the commitment, expertise and support of the pupils in shaping everyday cultural education work. LUNA PARK also offers young artists from all over the world residencies at Gesundbrunnen Primary School so that they can develop their own pieces in the network between dance, art, school and everyday life and gain experience in the socio-cultural practice.
