Sand-filled spheres and kinetic apparatuses float, roll and rotate, tracing the movements of the performer and forming ephemeral landscapes. Sand, a fleeting element and finite resource, is a metaphor for transience, memory and change.
In this freely accessible live installation, Tobias Piero Dohm deconstructs and reconstructs classical circus and dance techniques. Sand-filled balls and kinetic apparatuses float, roll, rotate and trace movements; they leave fleeting traces and form ephemeral landscapes. Sand becomes the central material and a metaphor: it stores time, makes change visible and opens up associative spaces between memory, transience and balance. The space itself becomes an actor, the spectators become explorers. Sound, movement and matter combine to create a new, sensual language of the present and invite us to experience time as a dynamic structure full of surprises, beyond a linear progression.
