Two of the leading ensembles of contemporary music – Klangforum Wien and the Neue Vocalsolisten from Stuttgart – have joined forces for the second concert in the Musikfest Berlin to give the world premiere of a new work by the Greek-French composer Georges Aperghis, which was composed to suit them perfectly. Aperghis has made a composition full of the tension between individual and group, couples and competitors, their erosion and inner magnetism. “We walk alone or together, we climb the mountain, our music accompanies us day and night, we reach the summit, then ...” The work is divided into a large number of chamber music movements with various smaller and larger instrumentations.
