“As an orchestra percussionist you are usually a kind of seasoning chef, adding particular sounds as special colours to the notes of the other musicians,” explains Raphael Haeger, percussionist with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Apart from the orchestral repertoire, however, there are a number of solo works in which percussionists can impressively display all the facets of their arsenal of instruments. A fascinating listening experience!
