Ever since Yuna lost her mother, she hates school. She doesn't want any more friends either. Because everyone is suddenly so different to her. Her father is also annoying and pretends he is always in a good mood. Only with her fantasy boyfriend Jerome is everything as it used to be. She can forget everything in their secret conversations. Then one day Max enters her life unexpectedly in the school playground and just won't go away. And he asks questions. About Yuna's home, the death of her mother and about Jerome. But Max also has his problems: especially with his two big brothers and his parents, who are constantly arguing with each other.

Gradually, the two children discover what they have in common and draw courage from their friendship. Max tries to stand up to his brothers and Yuna faces up to her grief.
