Every first Sunday of the month, 3–4 PM
Acker Stadt Palast is going through a transformation. We want to strengthen our connection with the artists who work here—not just during performances, but also in their daily rehearsal lives and beyond. Around 13 groups have been invited to become part of the house, using the space not only for their work but also to exchange ideas and connect with one another.
The Acker Potluck is one of the opportunities for artists, staff, neighbors, guests, audience members—and even tourists exploring Berlin—to come together.
This shift in direction was inspired by a realization from our artistic director: although she dreams of a world rooted in sustainability and mutual support, the theater had lately been functioning more like a machine—with too many groups, too little time for each, and too many roles piling up on too few people. Perhaps many of us know this feeling—wishing for a better system, but not always living it in our daily actions. We want to change that, and inspire others to do the same by planting seeds of good practice.
The Acker Potluck is a moment of encounter, something we value deeply. It’s a space for connection—not only socially, but also creatively. A place to share artistic processes, exchange ideas, and simply get to know each other and the world around us. It’s also a great chance to learn more about Acker Stadt Palast, our Artists in Residence, and our program.
And to bring everything together in the best way possible, we invite you to join us for a shared meal: everyone brings something, and we enjoy the time together.
