Darkness. An emptiness. The quietest and at the same time loudest moment of the mind: 4:48 am. In the depths of sleep, in that cursed hour when the mind is at its clearest, time stands still and thoughts take over the body. The audience is now not only a witness to this collapse, but perhaps also a part of it. No stories are told in this piece. At 4:48, choppy, echoing thoughts reverberate, shredding reality, blurring spaces and collapsing time. The stage can become a room, a hospital corridor or complete nothingness. Sarah appears before her ... or her reflection, her ghost. Between voices, whispers, screams and muffled laughter, a light suddenly appears. Sarah begins to speak, but her words remain incomplete, break off abruptly and overlap. Can the audience intervene, or is this just an inevitable breakdown? The light changes, and suddenly Sarah appears on a hospital bed. Doctors without faces, pointless prescriptions - Sarah's only question echoes: “When have I ever been healthy? Have I ever really lived?”
