Feel the own body, test its possibilities, execute movements together and work with creativity: our dancetherapist and –pedagogue Bettina Thiel and our dancepedagogue Stefan Witzel invite kids and youth with a clinical picture of cerebral palsy between the age of 5 and 17 years, to participate with their parents in a four-day workshop during the break.
You can dance while standing, but likewise while sitting. You can dance with your eyes, your fingers, your corners of the mouth, alone or with a partner, just how the body permits you to dance. Every child that is able to show their emotions in any way is just right for this workshop, no matter what its motor or cognitive disorders are.
Goal of the workshop is, to provide the children and their parents with new experiences that distract from everyday life through creative practices and to strengthen the bond between child and parent. Yet, the children can also be accompanied by a sibling, aunt, uncle or grandparent. However, it has to be the same chaperone each of the four days, who participates actively.
The workshop takes place from April 15th until April 18th, every day from 10:00-12:00. The location is the premises of the Staatsballett Berlin in the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Charlottenburg) and its costs are 40 euros per child (chaperone for free).
